Making His story, our story

We believe it matters to make His story our story. Not because it’s a nice idea, but because it changes everything. In a world where people are desperate for meaning, chasing likes, status, and security, Jesus offers something radically different—a better story. Not just a story to believe in, but one to live by. His story isn’t a bedtime tale. It’s the truth. And it demands a response.

Jesus didn’t come to improve our lives—He came to transform them. His life wasn’t safe or convenient. He stepped into the mess, reached the forgotten, spoke with authority, and loved with power. He was misunderstood, betrayed, crucified—and then He rose. Not just to win a spiritual battle, but to offer us a new beginning. This isn’t fiction. It’s not religion in robes. It’s raw, real, earth-shaking truth. And it matters that we make it our own.

Making His story our story means more than nodding along in church. It’s saying, “Jesus, take the pen.” It means we stop trying to be the hero of our own script and let Him lead. When we do, things shift. Pride gives way to humility. Bitterness melts into forgiveness. Fear gets silenced by peace. We don’t just carry the cross as a symbol—we carry it in how we live.

Let’s be honest: it’s easy to drift. Easy to blend in. But following Jesus was never meant to be safe. He never called us to comfort. He called us to obedience. And when we follow Him—really follow Him—we find life. Not just someday in heaven, but right here, in the middle of school runs, board meetings, broken dreams, and second chances. His story brings light into our ordinary. It makes the mundane miraculous.

And yes, it’s costly. Saying no to self and yes to Christ is not a soft option. But it’s worth it. Because His story is one of hope in despair, love in chaos, and victory in defeat. When we let that story shape us, we stop chasing what doesn’t last. We start building what does. We don’t just survive—we shine. And the world sees it.

Britain doesn’t need more religious chatter. It needs people who live like Jesus is real. People who forgive when it’s hard. Who show grace when it’s not deserved. Who speak truth with love. Who give more than they take. That’s the kind of story that gets attention. That’s what Jesus did. And when we do it, people notice.

The gospel is not a side dish to life. It is life. Every moment, every decision, every conversation is a chance to live His story loud. Not perfectly, but purposefully. Not to perform, but to reflect Him. Because when Jesus lives in us, His story spills out of us.

So, does it matter? You bet it does. Making His story our story is the call. The challenge. The invitation. And when we say yes, we step into something bigger than ourselves. Something eternal. Something that echoes in the lives of others. His story, your story, our story—tangled up in grace, driven by love, marked by hope.

And the best part? The story’s not over yet.

Church on Sunday at Strodes College, Egham

welcome 2

Our Sunday service starts at 11:00 a.m. and typically lasts about 90 minutes.

We start each service with lively worship with songs from around the world, followed by inspired Bible-based teaching. All our sermons are recorded and are available as a podcast after the service.

We have a monthly cycle of Sunday services, with our Communion Service being on the first Sunday of each month and an All-Age All-Nation Service on the second Sunday of each month. Our other Sunday services include Spirit-focused and teaching services.

We have consciously adopted being a blended church that is both for those online and face-to-face. You are welcome to join us on Livestream or via Facebook, Linkedin, YouTube, or X (Twitter), or you can catch up and watch the recordings later.
